As a Brisbane Bayside engagement photographer, we absolutely love photographing couples along our beautiful Redlands coastline, but sometimes the best adventure is heading a little further afield. Choosing a location outside the Brisbane Bayside opens up endless possibilities—from dramatic headlands and secluded beaches to rolling hinterland landscapes and hidden coastal gems. Your engagement session should reflect your story, and finding the perfect backdrop is all part of creating something truly unforgettable.

 Whether we’re chasing the first light along the Sunshine Coast, exploring the Gold Coast’s stunning beaches, or discovering a hidden location you’ve always loved, the extra effort is always rewarded with breathtaking scenery and unique photographs that feel completely your own.

One of my favourite ways to photograph couples is at sunrise. The early morning light is soft, warm, and incredibly flattering, creating romantic images with dreamy pastel skies and peaceful surroundings. Unlike busy afternoons, sunrise gives us quiet beaches, calm water, and the freedom to explore without crowds in the background. It also means you’ll enjoy a relaxed experience together, making it easy to forget the camera is even there.

To finish the session, we always encourage couples to embrace the moment and head into the water. Kick off your shoes, hold hands, splash through the shallows, or simply stand together as the waves roll in. Those carefree, spontaneous moments often become the images my couples treasure the most. They’re authentic, joyful, and full of genuine connection.
